The Monkey Flower Group is the husband-and-wife team of Ben King and Jaime Giorgi, florists in Napa, California who use local plant materials to make arrangements that are unique, beautiful, and evocative of Northern California’s seasons and landscape.
Before returning to her native Napa and founding The Monkey Flower Group in 2010, lead designer Jaime Giorgi earned her bachelor’s degrees in economics and anthropology, both with a focus on agriculture, from Grinnell College in Iowa. During her college years she worked on chicken, beef, apple, and alpaca farms, designing flowers on the side all the while. Upon graduating she worked at Winston Flowers in Boston and Stray Cat Flower Farm in Vermont. Jaime relished her time exploring different parts of the country, but is grateful to be back in her home valley.
Ben King wears a lot of hats including office and fleet manager, intrepid delivery driver, and head chef. He's also growing more flowers by the season. Ben earned his bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Grinnell College, with a concentration in Global Development Studies, and his master’s degree in Community Development and Applied Economics from the University of Vermont, writing his thesis on farm-to-school programs. Although the Giorgi-King duo dates back to 2007, Ben officially joined The Monkey Flower Group in 2015 following careers in both agriculture and public service. When he’s not tending the operations of The Monkey Flower Group, Ben enjoys cooking for friends and family and drawing and painting using traditional methods. He has a huge soft spot in his heart for his native Saint Paul, Minnesota, but is continually won over by the Northern California landscape which makes Napa Valley the most naturally beautiful place he has ever lived.
